15. Rachel's Page: The first several "album pages" of what I hope will be many pictures of Rachel in interesting places (to say the least!). For example, the page begins with her and her "Habitat partners" in Nicaragua (1999) and then goes on to Costa Rica (2000) -- and who knows where next? Also included are some "album pages" of pictures that Rachel took in and around Brandon, Florida. There's also a link to a couple dozen pictures that she took in late November 1999 when she visited her family members in Corvallis, Oregon and Seattle, Washington.

16. This will only be of interest to the older folks among you. This is a roughly forty year-old B/W photo album I scanned in for the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity, but it includes pictures of all four of the last generation of "Ryan children"--Mary Lou, Nancy (barely), Tom and me. Some of you, who are interested, will see your moms and dads in the pictures if you look closely.

25. A Slide show of James Jeffrey (Jim's and Brooke's sweetheart!) -- pictures taken in late November, early December, 2000 and continuing on into 2001 AD/CE -- as I receive them from the best photographer around, IMHO [Please wait until first pictures shows on screen before using "next" and "previous" links! It might take 15 - 20 seconds, but the wait is worth it and you can then click on "next" as quickly as you like after the first picture.]

28. And for those of you who are not color sensitive to such colors as red, blue, yellow, green, pink, etc., here are about 50 of Rachel's pictures of the above (#27) wedding put into a slide show format -- they start with a couple of Rachel and her friend, Richard, in South Africa, followed by -- again, Jeannie and James Tjoa Plus Rebecca and Christopher Ehrman Tie the Knot at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 15, 2001 [As with any of my slide show presentations -- until I get better at JavaScript -- please wait for about 20 seconds or so until the first picture shows BEFORE clicking on the "next" or "previous" buttons. After that, it can be as quickly as you wish for the remaining 50 pictures or so, and no waiting for pictures to load thereafter.]

30. Yes -- Yet another birds-eye view of the major event of 2001! This slide show is care of Fadi, the husband of one of the gorgeous bridesmaids (and a dear cousin of all), my gorgeous niece's handsome husband (or my sweet sister's great son-in-law -- however you want to add it up) and the father of two of the most beautiful little girls in all of Virginia, Maryland and DC -- and most of the East Coast -- and yes, they are largely the stars of the early pictures in this slide show. [As with any of my slide show presentations -- until I get better at JavaScript -- please wait for about 20 seconds or so until the first picture shows BEFORE clicking on the "next" or "previous" buttons. After that, it can be as quickly as you wish for the remaining 150 pictures or so (when they are all posted), and no waiting for pictures to load thereafter.]

But for some of you who would rather not wait for the entire batch of Fadi's photos to load, I have broken them up into seven batches below, each of which loads much, much faster. [Still. it may take upwards of a minute to two minutes for each "slide show" to fully load, depending upon the speed of your modem.]

30-A. Batch One!

30-B. Batch Two

30-C. Batch Three!

30-D. Batch Four!

30-E. Batch Five!

30-F. Batch Six!

30-G. Batch Seven!

31.Here's some more -- yes, of the same double wedding, but it's interesting to see how different the scenes look as taken from different cameras. Presented here are four rolls that Flo took while in Las vegas. One disk that she mailed was unreadable, so I couldn't mount it, and Flo wrote that floppy disks were accidentally not made of two other rolls (Walmart's mistake). Great shots, though and oh yes, I simply went straightforward and broke them into one slide-show for each of the four rolls. [Still, it may take upwards of a minute to two minutes for each "slide show" to fully load, depending upon the speed of your modem.]

33. Tony Mrazik brought these from his home in New York State (near Albany) To Seattle with him in April of 2001. They are largely pictures of his lovely family and others during the year 2000. [As with any of my slide show presentations -- until I get better at JavaScript -- please wait for about 20 seconds or so until the first picture shows BEFORE clicking on the "next" or "previous" buttons. 34. Summer of 2001 (First batch) -- Note the new format that allows you to either start an automatic showing (5 seconds per picture) or to pop about as you please after you "stop" the show. You can even drop down the Combo Box of Captions and pick a picture based upon its caption. Neat, huh? [Even now, as with any of my slide show presentations -- until I get better at JavaScript -- please still wait for about a few seconds or so until the first picture shows BEFORE clicking on the "next" or "previous" buttons. After that, it can be as quickly as you wish for the remaining pictures, and no waiting for pictures to load thereafter.]

35. Joel and Kerrin's lovely wedding in Michigan on 26 May 2001. These pictures are taken at the Kingdom Hall before, during and after the wedding itself and at the reception. Other pictures taken during that same weekend are above under #34. 36. A trip to the Manastash area close to Ellensburg on July 14, 2001. Thirteen of us went there for the full day (a Saturday) intent on finding "Mel's Hole." Mel's Hole is presumably a rather strange hole first discovered by Mel Waters about a decade ago. He measured its depth with extremely long fishing line -- properly plumbed -- and determined that the hole was 80,000 feet deep. For reference, the deepest ocean trench is about 36,000 feet deep and no human has dug deeper than 16,000 feet (Shell Oil Corporation). Locals had been disposing of everthing from dead cows to old refrigerators into it, but no one ever heard the droppings hit the bottom. Anyway, after appearing on a couple of national radio shows and after a lot of publicity, Mel "disappeared" and we are the first group that has tried to find the hole in several years, if ever. I belong to something called the "Seattle Chat Club," and that was the group who went and who are shown in these pictures. [Even now, as with any of my slide show presentations -- until I get better at JavaScript -- please still wait for about a few seconds or so until the first picture shows BEFORE clicking on the "next", "previous" or "start/stop" buttons. After that, it can be as quickly as you wish for the remaining pictures, and no waiting for pictures to load thereafter.]

37. Rachel's trip to Corvallis and Seattle during the Summer of 2002 (Back to quick-loading non-slide show!) Introducing Little Ryan Tjoa, the latest and greatest (for right now) grandchild. Also introducing Jeremy (Elizabeth's friend) from Seattle and Johan (Rachel's friend) from Houston -- and originally from South Africa. These are followed by a quick peek at "Nameless I" (John and Brooke's latest little girl at 19 weeks in the womb) and "Nameless II" ( Joe and dawn's latest little boy at about 17 weeks in the womb) followed by some nice pictures taken by Rachel down at Jack's and Sherry's palace in Fort Myers, Florida -- only days before she flew away to Ghana and her new adventures in the Peace Corps.

38. Some more from the summer of 2002 -- These are of James Jeffrey's second birthday in Raleigh, North Carolina -- for those of you who may not remember, James Jeffrey is Jim's (Jim Ryan) and Brooke's (Brooke Badoor) wonderful little tiger whose pictures grace my desks at work and at home

b a c k g r o u n d c o l o r

39. These are pictures that Rachel sent to me to be posted. They were taken in Ghana, West Africa while she was there during September through November 2002 (pictures taken in October). The captions tell the stories behind the pictures.

40. Well, it's autumn 2002 as I begin this page and this set begins with a group photo of the great reunion in Phoenix (Mraziks and Ryans) plus a couple of odds and ends. Additional pics of the reunion (from Rachel's camera) will be added over the next couple of months or so ... so stay posted! It includes various snaps of some of the grandchildren and nieces at Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas ... plus whatever is/are still on its/their way! Whew -- it's past Easter already and more events -- Joe and Dawn's baby boy, Michael Zachary Ryan and a gang of family at the Cathie and Fadi's at Easter, for starters -- or enders. I include a link to Joe's gallery of little Michael Zachary Ryan -- the most beautiful newborn baby in the world -- at least as of the moment! [They are all so absolutely beautiful and such proof of God's incredible creative powers.]

41. And spring has finally come to Seattle -- and elsewhere! Oh my goodness! It's well into 2003 already and we only started this page at about the time of Ryan's first birthday -- that's Ryan here in Seattle, Jeannie's and James' li'l swee'pie. [He was one on 9 May 2003] And let's see . . . Rebecca is now due in December (photo clearly shows it's a boy -- largely the smile on Rebecca's face and her excellent posture) and Rachel has returned from Costa Rica and David from Europe. And I am back from Michigan and a visit with my brother Bill and his family and a MUFON (don't ask!) Conference. I also included a dozen or so pictures taken at our "Team Building" day at a miniature golf course in Redmond. All of our IT Education staff are displayed for all to see in these pictures so that you'll have some idea with whom the old man works on a day-to-day basis.

44. Darkness comes to Seattle with each autumn and winter. But to get us off to a "bright" start in October, 2003, we have a nice artist's sketch (machine created though) of Jim and Li'l Jeffrey -- now three years and two months old. Also, we said "welcome" to li'l Benjamin (Becky's and Chris' first) on 16 December and Rachel took gobs of pictures (thanks!) of the Ryans in Florida over the Thanksgiving weekend -- hopefully, I'll get the grandchildren correctly as I caption the pictures. They largely include Jack's and Sherry's brood of boys , Joe's and Dawn's little Michael, and Kim's Justin. Flo also went up to the Washington, DC area to help out with little Benjamin and to visit various persons, including Aunt Nancy and some friends from Raleigh, North Carolina (RTI) days, Dora and Fred Lemus.

b a c k g r o u n d c o l o r

45. 2004 started out with Flo traveling here and there helping with the grandchildren and with me teaching (more or less) as an "instructional assistant" at Grays Harbor College while trying to organize the little cabin in the woods in Ocean Shores, Washington. By the Spring Quarter, I was up to two full classes of statistics and Java Programming while trying to maintain sanity with up to six ... uhh .. make that seven cats/kitties vying for space in my bed. Furface survived the trip to the vet to be "put to sleep" after I looked deep into his sweet blue eyes and realized it was my quality of life I was thinking about and not his. He's genuinely happy -- purrs like a kitten -- sleeping under my nose in my bed smelling like ... Anyway, the pictures under this link begin with some taken by Aunt Nancy in the Virginia-DC area -- highlighting little Benjamin who ushered forth on December 16, 2003. After that, it's several pictures from Rachel's camera in Florida -- highlighting Michael Zachary's first birthday and Flo's own birthday party on April 1st. And somewhere in the confusion of 2003's events, including the death of little Jeffrey's mother, Brooke Robunson, Jim and young James Jeffrey moved to Florida to begin life in the Tampa area. Also, Johnny and Brooke from Mesa sent a few pics of their family at home and at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. But not to be outdone when it comes to closeness with nature, Rachel took her nephew, Justin (my grandkid!) and a couple of her young friends to Nature's Classroom for Justin's birthday and sent some mighty super photos of the experience. Then there's an update on Benjamin at about 6 months and some new material on my cabin in the woods, so to speak, as June is Busting Out All Over.

47. And as suddenly as summer comes in Ocean Shores, so it ends. The first several pictures were taken during 15 - 17 August 2004 when Aunt Nancy came here to the Pacific Northwest to visit. The next several were taken by various persons at the big Ryan Reunion in early October at Rebecca's and Chris's ... and elsewhere in the vicinity.
